Humpback Whales

Humpback Whales

The humpback whale is a species of Baleen whale.

It is known for slapping the water when it dives in with its tail and pectoral fins.

The males can sing beautiful songs that can last for 10 to 20 minutes.

The humpback whales is long and thin and it has a hump on its back.

It grows 12-16 metres and weighs about 36,00kg’s.

In the summer, they swim to the North and South Pole.

This is where they eat krill and small fish.

Humpback Whales are found in oceans and seas around the world. They migrate to tropical waters to breed and give birth in the winter.


NOTE: Humpback Whales are an endangered species and there are only about 10,000 – 15,000 left worldwide. Humpback Whales are beautiful creatures.
